Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for all that we have in our life. Whether it is a neighbor, good friend, or family. If you look, I am sure you will have no problem to find thanks in your heart. As I walk around the track, it is a certainty that I will not be a stone’s throw from a familiar face that has known me for years. But, one day we decided to get to know each other a little bit more.
Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, and reflection. Enjoy this day of racing as Fair Grounds opens the doors for the 140th racing season. For horse players, this is the signal that the New Year is just around the corner and the chase for the first Saturday in May will be here before we know it.

Hump day brings rain to most parts of the country. It can’t last forever, and by Thursday we will have something extra to be thankful as the weather gets a little more sun, and the tracks should be drying out.
At Mountaineer Park tonight, there will be a starter $5,000 race that holds quite a bit of attention. It is the Rapid Redux show, and it will be conducted on an off-track and full of runners that are looking to be the spoiler. But, I have to give credit to the track, as there is a very nice undercard that offers a Pick-Four that could end with a historical moment. So, if you are still up at 9:55 p.m. tonight.
