Gulfstream opens on Saturday with the 14th edition of the Claiming Crown and it looks to be a great card of racing with big fields for each race. The Claiming Crown begins in race 4 and runs through the last race of the day, race 10. If you are feeling good about your handicapping, Gulfstream is offering a $.10 Pick 7 for the Claiming Crown races. Here's a look at my choices for each race.

Hawthorne has a $132,638 carryover for their Jackpot High-Five in race 9 for today, Thursday, November 29th. The entire pool will only be paid out if there is only one winning ticket. If there is more than one winning ticket, 50% of the daily pool will be distributed and the rest will go back in for the next race day.

It's the holiday where we give thanks and the stakes action on Thanksgiving Day makes me very thankful. Hollywood Park, Calder, Aqueduct, and Churchill all have graded stakes on their cards. Certainly don't forget the $560,134 Pick 6 Carryover at Hollywood Park. Let's take a look at the four graded stakes for the day.

Aqueduct's feature for Saturday is the Discovery Handicap (G3), which is the third leg of their Pick 4 with a $250,000 Guarantee. Last week had a $7,479 return on a $2 ticket. Let's try and our piece of that pie.

The spotlight is on Delta Downs on Saturday, with a $100,000 guaranteed Pick Four that culminates with the $1 million Delta Jackpot. This wager in the past has been good for huge payoffs, including a $5,000 payoff for 50 cents in 2010. Let’s take a shot!

A $1,000,000 purse will pull contenders from across the country no matter what time of year or how long after Breeders' Cup weekend.

Churchill Downs will turn on their lights Saturday night for Downs After Dark with an 11 card program with the first races starting at 4:30 p.m. EST.

A string of long shots on Sunday produced a huge $89,489 carryover into today’s Pick Six at Aqueduct. With an estimated $300,000 in new money expected, the race sequence today could bring a big score to an astute horseplayer.

Eight stakes are on the line this Saturday, November 10, for Calder's 11th Florida Million, with $1,000,000 on the line for Florida-breds.

Jim Goodman's gives his selections for the Breeders' Cup for both days.
