Saturday marks the return of Calder's Summit of Speed where top sprinters take on the dirt and turf in six stakes. These races are full and great betting races. Calder also features a sprint foot race for the Jockeys, which is always a popular event.

Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint Stakes - 5 Furlongs (Turf)

Three graded stakes will be run on July 4th, the Swaps S. (G2), the Poker S. (G3) and the Red Bank S. (G3). The Swaps features some interesting California three-year-olds that could make some noise later in the year. The Poker and Red Bank feature turf milers where four are cross entered.

Dominion Day Stakes (G3) - Woodbine

This weekend highlights improving 3-year-old colts in the 1 1/16 mile Dwyer Stakes (G2) and turf fillies and mares in the New York Stakes (G2). The Dwyer seems to be an evenly matched field, while the New York has the classy Aruna taking on the new European invader Banampire.

Woodbine's $1 million Queen's Plate Stakes will have a field of fourteen with Strait of Dover being made the 3-1 favorite as he comes into the race looking for his fifth straight victory.

NY Hot List handicappers, Bob Ehalt and Shawn Rychling, were on fire on Belmont Stakes Day. These experienced NY handicappers supplied their picks for the entire Belmont card for last Saturday. This included horses that were on their NY Hot List. They picked out 7 winners which included some great handicapping advice for horses they were looking at and throwing out.
